    UC Learning Center

    The UC Learning Center is the University of California learning management system. The system enables UCSD employees to enroll in a variety of training activities, from required University of California eCourses to hundreds of technical and soft skill programs. Take a course at your computer wherever and whenever you want to; the system is available 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

    UCSD Employees

    To log into the UC Learning Center, you may use either your single sign-on credentials (select the Business systems tab) or your Outlook account credentials (select the Active Directory).

    Non-UCSD Employees

    For participants of UCSD-sponsored programs, i. e. volunteers, nursing and visiting students, and community physicians, the UC Learning Center enables participants to sign up and take trainings required through their respective programs.

    See below for important login information:

    Username = DOB (mmddyyyy) + last four SS#
    IMPORTANT: no lines, no dashes for a total of 12 digits
    Password = ucsd (all lower case letters)

    Requesting Access to the UC Learning Center
    New employee accounts (staff, housestaff and faculty) will be active one business day after start date based on status in payroll. Please do not submit affiliate account requests. For additional information or questions, please e-mail myhscourses@ucsd.edu.

    If you do not yet have a UC Learning Center account, please have your UCSD program point of contact/sponsor fill out the Affiliate Request Form and you will receive an account within 2-3 business days.

      System Requirements

      The following browsers can be used to access the UC Learning Center. 

      • Internet Explorer (Versions 6-11)
      • Firefox (Versions 14-30)
      • Safari (Versions 5-7)
      • Chrome (Version 37)
         

      Other browsers may also be used but are not officially supported.  It is recommended that only supported browsers be used for eCourses to ensure proper tracking of completions.

      Some eCourse modules may require browser plug-ins.

      Pop-up Blockers

      All pop-up blockers must be disabled to launch an eCourse. For a list of common pop-up blockers and assistance with disabling them, please contact the Information Services Help Desk at 619-543-4357 or refer to this website.  

      Managers/Supervisors

      As a manager, the training and development of your employees is a priority for you. The UC Learning Center provides several features to help you stay on top of the training offers for your team as well as training compliance for all of your direct reports.

      Within the UC Learning Center you are able to access your Manager tools by clicking on the Manager tab (see screenshot). This tab is available to all UCSD employees that have one or more direct reports assigned to them.

      You may also register your direct reports for courses and classes.

      If you do not have a Manager tab but have staff reporting to you, or if the direct reports showing up are not correct, please submit a UC Learning Center Inquiry.

        IMPORTANT: For security reasons, when you have finished using the UC Learning Center, please be sure to click the log off link in the upper-right hand corner. Then close your browser (all windows) completely before leaving the computer. If you are working on a shared computer and skip this step, other users may be able to access your account on the UC Learning Center, as well as other applications which use the UCSD Logon ID.
